“No experience” is usually the wrong way to think about the problem. Almost nothing online asks for a qualification — microtasks for money exist precisely because nobody checks what you did before. What the work wants is a signal that you will actually deliver, and a CV is only one of several ways to provide that.

Once you see it that way the options open up. Research work pays you for being an ordinary person. Selling something makes the item the proof. And a couple of routes replace a CV with a short entry test you can pass this weekend.

The twelve below are grouped by what stands in for experience. None of them costs anything to start.

Where there is no gatekeeper at all

Where being an ordinary person is the qualification

This group is the one people overlook, and it pays more than the first.

4. Recorded website and app testing. Companies pay you to use a site and say what you expect to happen. Expertise would actively ruin the data — they need someone encountering it fresh. The only skill is talking clearly while you click.

5. Paid focus groups. Firms pay for the perspective of people in a particular situation: parents of toddlers, recent movers, people who switched banks last year. Your qualification is your life.

6. Voice recordings. Reading short scripted lines for speech datasets. Pays per clip, needs a quiet room, and an ordinary regional accent is an advantage rather than a problem — under-represented voices are exactly what these projects are short of.

7. Diary and measurement studies. Log something small daily for a week, or let a research panel include your device. Passive, undemanding, and paid as a block. Read the data terms before joining, since what you are trading is information about yourself.

Where the work is its own proof

8. Sell things you already own. The most reliable money on this page. Photograph four things you have not touched in a year and list them. Nobody asks a seller for a CV.

9. Sell digital files you have already made. Spreadsheet templates, planners, study notes, presets. If the file exists, listing it is the entire remaining task — and it keeps selling afterwards.

10. Sell photographs from your camera roll. Stock buyers want ordinary images far more than dramatic ones: a wet pavement, a cluttered desk, hands around a cup. A modern phone clears the technical bar comfortably.

Where you can build the proof in a weekend

These two want evidence, but the evidence takes hours rather than years.

11. Transcription and captioning. Most platforms use a short entry test instead of a CV. Pass it and you are in. Slow on the first file, much faster by the tenth, and captioning pays more than plain transcription for the same audio.

12. Proofreading. Clients ask for a sample edit, not a qualification. If you spot other people’s typos without trying, you already have what the test is checking for. Charge per page rather than per hour.

What to do first

Start with one from group one and one from group two. The first earns while you wait; the second pays better and only asks you to register.

Then do the single thing that replaces experience fastest: finish something. A completed task, a passed entry test, one delivered sample. Every route on this page treats a finished piece of work as the credential, and half-finished work counts for nothing anywhere.

And ignore anything that asks you to pay for training, a starter kit or a “certification” before you can begin. Legitimate work in all twelve of these categories costs nothing to enter. The fee is the product in those cases, and you are the customer rather than the earner.

Inexperience is a much smaller obstacle online than it looks. What actually separates people is finishing things, and that starts today.
